A Year of Sewing - A Look Back & New Goals
Happy New Year! Like many of you out there, I'm setting goals again for the new year! We have one goal as a family for the year and that is to "SIMPLIFY". We plan to apply that to all areas of our lives and hope that it's possible even though we are about to jump from 1 to 3 kids in the next 8 weeks or less!
But, in my sewing world, I've got a few more specific goals! First, I'm taking a look back at my 2017 sewing goals to see what actually got done and then sharing my sewing goals for 2018!
1. Kimono - Sew Caroline - bought the pattern, but never made it
3. Gable Top - Indie Sew - Nope
4. Pajamas - Oliver & S - Nope
5. Adelyn Scoop Top - Simple Life Pattern Company - Nope
8. Noodlehead Caravan Tote & Pouch - Nope
10. Coffee Shop Lace Dress - Bella Sunshine Designs - nope
But, in my sewing world, I've got a few more specific goals! First, I'm taking a look back at my 2017 sewing goals to see what actually got done and then sharing my sewing goals for 2018!
My goals for 2017 were:
2. Out and About Dress - Sew Caroline - YES! I loved it and plan to make more! See the one I made here!
6. Quilt - Any Size - Does a quilted zipper pouch or stuffed animal count?
7. Make something for someone else - I made a cute vest for a friend, and several outfits from the Jaylyn Pace Handmade shop were purchased!
9. Baby Leggings - Made Everyday - I made baby leggings, but not this pattern
11. Take two sewing classes - YES!
Even though I didn't get everything on this list done, I did a couple other things like pattern testing and opening a little Etsy shop that were really fun and rewarding, so I'm pleased with how sewing this last year went!
Now as I look forward to this year, I've got some more goals, including my 2018 #makenine!
1. Get sewing machine and all sewing supplies unpacked - HA! Yes, we moved, and we are just now settling in to the house and starting to prepare for the arrival of our twins next month. So, in order to get any of these sewing goals done, I've got to actually set up a space to sew!
2. Make 2 baby blankets - These will either be little minky blankets or baby quilts for the twins, but I haven't decided yet.
3. Make new sheets/decor for A's new room - since we moved, I wanted to re-do A's room a little, so I figure some new sheets/pillow cases/throw pillows would be a fun way to do that.
4. #2018makenine - this is my 2018 make nine list - hopefully all of these will get done!
